Sometime in the next 2 weeks Stantec will be the tallest building in Edmonton.

I hate the poles the TTC uses. That said, the chrome like finish is an improvement.

What type of pole would you prefer? The ones in the photo above are about as minimalist as I can imagine, which I assume was the intention.

I prefer to say as utilitarian as I can imagine . They have solid cores so any wiring will be in conduits strapped to the outside.

A finished Stantec. 66 occupied floors and 2 or 3 mechanical.

CN tower Edmonton's first tower from 1966 looks so small compared to JW and Stantec.

Even more striking (IMO) is the absolute dwarfing of Edmonton's most recently built "new tallest" (Epcor).

Not really sure what to say about Stantec. Its big. Its blue. Its bleh.

Admittedly, this could be tinged by anti-Edmonton bias.

The Ice District towers are obviously much taller, metres wise, and the perspective also works in their favour.

No. That's a solid description for Stantec. JW looks very engineered as well. Weird, as the architect of record is known for inspired artistic flair.
