This has to be one of the best looking proposals in Halifax since I started following them 5 years ago.

Looks good, I like the somewhat futuristic look.

I love how people call this design futuristic like its 1980-something. This is 2013, this is a present modern day design folks. I've seen many buildings that look more "futuristic" than this. Now I'm not bashing the design or anything as I find it quite attractive but I'm just saying perhaps we should change our standards of what that word represents.

I love this proposal! I love that it looks like a cruise ship jutting out into the harbour. Being LEED Gold I hope that the materials used will be as high quality as shown. Also April 2014 start date! I really hope that this will go through in a timely manner.

It looks pretty good. Reminds me of a couple buildings we have here in Calgary, like these in 'condo alley', that have a rounded shape and balconies. I always enjoy looking at them on my walks along the river.

The design isn't bad. I don't particularly mind the rounded corners, but I do think that straight edges would look more modern..

This sort of reminds me of the ARC condo building. When I first moved to TO, I lived at the interection of Bayview & Shepherd, right across the street from this place:

This seems similar in scale, and since the ARC's whole deal was seafaring, this might work a better conceptually since it's actually right on the water, rather in than landlocked in uptown Toronto.

This development looks really great and will be a fantastic addition to the skyline. I just wish it was starting this April and not in 2014!

I like the design of the right (north side) better than the more southerly treatment.

Regardless, the lass render of this was terrible by comparison.

This could be tweaked, but will go well with the NSP headquarters nextdoor.

Kudos to whoever proposed/designed this. I think it will look great on the waterfront; my only slight criticism is that I think the tower portion should contrast with the base (the first 9 floors) more somehow. I would like the base more if it were on it's own architecturally. Either that, or the tower portion should be even more similar to the base in terms of the sweeping curves.

Yes, it looks exceptionally appealing and will be a welcome addition to the city.

Hopefully it will really be built and not become like the Salter Street proposal that looked great but wasn't built.

I love it because it's so different and Halifax needs some different looking towers IMO...makes the skyline look more eclectic.

So true. Imagine how sweet the southern waterfront would have looked with this, Emera AND Salter Street. Poke up the Alexander from behind, and the place would look completely different!

With Southwest Properties, builders of Bishop's Landing, behind this, I have extreme faith in this development being of the highest standards and being built period, unlike some developers of late that are more talk than action.

As for the design, this looks pretty preliminary. I think it's okay but it is bland. My guess is that the final building will look quite different from this rendering.

It will be interesting to see what effect this has on the Bank of Canada project. Will Southwest push that one off until this one is completed? It would be impressive to see 2 large apartments go up at once but I am not sure all of those units could be absorbed at once. BoC is something like 250+ units.
