I like that last photo. Particularly because you can't see the tower's worst feature: the 1/4 onion and spire.

This has got to be my favorite hotel lobby in the city. It's so elegant and classy.

Meanwhile the tower (esp. the east wall of the podium and entire west side of the tower) remains a huge disappointment.

I know you forumers are tired of hearing this but I'm so disappointed with this tower I think its because the standard was set so extremely high with trumps tower in chicago I cant help compare the two even though they are very different towers. Its not a complete failure but isn't they way i thought it would turn out when i first looked at the renderings

Indeed. The cladding is much darker more opaque than the jewel like curtainwall with shadow-boxes depicted in the rendering. M'thinks they cheaped out but buyers generally don't care about exterior architecture. Just like the Ritz Carlton residences in Chicago this tower has no shortage of afterthoughts and awkward proportions.

Comparisons aside, it's an OK building - it does have some character towards the top, however if it had a flat roof this would be an ordinary high-rise. Overall not bad, I enjoyed watching it rise.

I walked by Trump:

Looks like they are working on the LED lights again
Also they have the Onion Dome covered in meshing, so I guess the glass installation is underway.

I like the cladding and exterior of this Trump, it's the 1/4 onion and spire that, to me, really ruin this tower. A flat roof, or just an antenna would have been preferential.

Having been out of the country for most of the construction of Trump, I must say it is nice visiting TO and seeing it in person. It doesn't look much like the renderings, but so far, I still like this building. Had it been built to the original height estimate, we might be calling it the 'GREEN MONSTER'. I feel the 'green stick' (as is) fits better in the skyline then it would had it become the tallest building in the core. The building that eventually tops First Canadian Place, must and will hopefully be something special. Thanks to all on this site for all of your great pics.

caltrane, try Imageshack. I've never run into bandwidth issues there.

I do most of my updates from my phone, Imageshack is a bit tougher to use on my iphone.

But yes, I think I'll start using imageshack.

Drove past this tower this morning. The tower itself and the cladding looks great, apart from that hideous 1/4 onion spire at the top. Such a pity, as without it this building would be a welcome addition to the skyline.

I am ok with the spire. It is about time TO got a building without a flat roof. Trump isn`t tall enough to stick out anyway, spire or not.
