About 8 km or 5 miles from the Central Station as the crow flies. (Finally a chance to use that expression )
Near the Amsterdam Arena in the south eastern part of the city.

It's going to be build right next to the Amsterdam Arena; exactly what the doctor ordered, imo.

No it's the national rail and the Amsterdam subway.

The Amsterdam Arena is in the South East of Amsterdam, and the Thalys will go around the western part of the city, so it won't pass there.

The train station you see on the areals is the Bijlmer train station, which is being renovated. It will look quite nice when finished.

Now thats some crazy and nice architecture. its way to differen't then what you see around. It is a shame that it got canceled.
