I assume that the developers own No. 35. As per Acris, It was conveyed to an LLC
In 2006.

There haven't been any NB permits. There's a stop order work in effect for the site.

Probably won't be for a while.

Legendary Bookseller Rizzoli Reopens Doors Monday at New NoMad Location
After closing its historic 57th Street flagship, the illustrated bookstore moves to NoMad

By Alanna Martinez

Quote:
The new 5,000-square-foot space on the ground floor of Kew Management’s St. James building, at Broadway and 26th Street, has soaring ceilings and an interior design that nods towards the classical finishes of the old location.

The bookstore’s new neighbors will include stores like Eataly, Marimekko, Procelanosa, and Maison Kitsune; restaurants 11 Madison Park and the Breslin; and hip hotels such as the Ace, NoMad, and Edition. Rizzoli’s will re-open its doors July 27.

It would be great if the base of this project ended up being no taller than the structure currently being demolished, and if the tower portion were set as far to the West (left in the above photo) as possible, so as not to run directly up against the Solow building.

The Solow building, along with Citicorp, is probably the best structure built in NYC during the 1970s (although, admittedly, there isn't much competition) and is one of my favorites in the city. It would be a real shame to see the cross-bracing on the Western side completely obscured.
