Finally a new rendering! It looks to be about 32 floors. This is the fifth phase in a huge downtown development. Phases 1 & 2 were both hotels, and they already opened. Work is finishing up on phase 3 & 4 (Bella Tower-28 Floors & 150 Main West-12 Floors) so it looks like 22 George might be launching soon.

The committee of adjustment approved the height of 33 storeys for the site. It'll be 106 metres tall and have 230 units.


This thread needs a name update to HAMILTON | 20/22 George Street | 106M | 33 FLOORS

The site has been fenced off, and all of the trees have been cut down. Looks like this should be starting construction soon.

Yuck. What an ugly building. I thought we were done with those sterile, glass spandrel eye sores that have infested Canadian cities from coast to coast. It would be a shame if Hamilton got blighted with them just as we're moving to a more attractive aesthetic.

I am just happy to see more high rises going up in Hamilton in the first-place. Additional residents downtown, and a complete renaissance to the city core...
