These towers deserve so much better than the horrible bases they've been given. But the Jin Mao is still my favorite of the three.

This building is simply astounding, but the Shanghai World Financial Center can never be topped for classiness and pure sexiness.

This is probably the most organic looking supertall of all time. Looking up @ it, I get dizzy! If there is an academy award for best building of the year this is the winner!

Already the best looking building of the past two decades and she is getting more beautiful by the day.

Who are the (prospective) tenants for the tower? Assuming this is used for commercial/office use, this could easily house 10,000+ office workers + retail in the first few floors

This building is so utterly massive, and yet it's totally under the radar because the Burj is still taller.

So voluptuous. This is easily the most gorgeous building in at least Asia.

Depends where you are in the world. It certainly isn't under the radar here in China or on SSC. SSP on the other hand......

I was thinking the same thing. The sky looks so clear in these pictures. Thanks for the pictures on a clear day!

What are you smoking? Probably the same thing the architects were. This is hideous, looks like a half melted candle. No imagination, just a big long slinky tube.
I know I'm in the minority here, but I really hate this building. I mean, I guess it's OK for China, whose skylines are already pretty garish, but American skylines are still the best in the world. They might not be the tallest, but they are the best planned and the classiest.
This thing is a shiny turd.
And look at all the hideous communist bloc stuff around it.

I quit smoking more than a decade ago. There is a way to disagree without the snarky putdowns, particularly since you are "in the minority here". Keep it classy, salad.

I think it's one of the best looking buildings in the world (for a mega-tall anyway) The only thing about it that I don't like is how much of the space is wasted under the outer curtain wall.

I thought so at first but saw a documentary on the building which gave me insight to the outer shell. The space in between supplies fresh air to all the floors, as well takes the extreme wind loads when typhoons from the Philippines hit. The outer shell can flex under the load and leave the inner structure with very little load creating a very stable structure.
