Great thread, reminds me a bit of Tbilisi in a couple of the pics. Just the vibe of the people and the funky bathroom lol. Were you staying in that place?

To answer your questions, and many others, I was born there, and lived until I was 10.

The bathtub basically was not cleaned for over 1 year. It's someone's apartment who is not well in the head, so no, normal people don't live with 1" worth of mold over there.

The girl is a student from National Aviation Institute, and that is the airplane hanger there!

The dude is my friend Yura. We drank all of this stuff, it's mostly beer and liquor. The cost of it all is about $20

I love it. Such a bizarre set. The photo thread equivalent of a Philip Glass piece.

"Selling Sushi by the meter. 1 meter = $11 "

This girl actually walked up to me and said why was I taking photos of run down areas with such a nice camera. I had a few passerby's do it. Simply because they are not used to seeing things like this. It's really easy to feel wealthy just because everyone is so poor.

Total cost: $2. And chips over there are made with sunflower oil, not corn oil.

ANYTHING having to do with US has a large US flag accompanying it. Basically the mentality of Ukrainians is USA = exotic, wealth, freedom.. Not surprising really.

"Here we understand you" is turned into "Here we undress you" by crossing out some letters! I would not object!

This meal costs about $7. Not including liter-beer that is being brought over.

Contrasts... Keep in mind a BMW X6 costs 2x more in Ukraine and average pay is $200 a month..

A fascinating candid look at Kiev. The colourful older parts are a nice surprise.

What's with the filthy bathtub, they don't clean over there?
Edit: I read your answer above.

Interesting mix, of an unknown place and its people. What got me was the cars and the adverage pay of $200 a month. We in the US are blessed, and to think of all the money spent here on vice and bottled water..
