Claridge Loop [70 Gloucester St]| 83m | 27fl | U/C

http://app01.ottawa.ca/postingplans/...appId=__7A55YT

New application up from Claridge. Features a great rendering with Tribeca included. I guess its offical Claridge is done with beige and teal.

Cheers,
Josh

Ps. I'll upload the pics tonight if someone doesn't beat me to it.

OMB arbitrators are salivating waiting for this file to hit their desks, though it's a much nicer building than Claridge's typical fare. I dig the ground floor commercial too.

It absolutely boggles my mind that even after the revised zoning bylaw, there's still a 3m "front lawn setback" required for this property...say nothing of the 4 commercial parking spaces and 44 visitor spaces.

I downloaded and read through the Design Brief, and wow, I am impressed with this building, for once something that looks different in Ottawa!

Looks really good! Not sure who would want the ground floor units at the back, but to each his own!

That's a nice location. Almost directly across the street from Tribeca. That area's going to look really nice.

I believe she was, yes. She was also against an 8-storey retirement home/condo thing that would've gone beside some heritage building not far from Tribeca.

What are the chances of Councillor Holmes waking up with a severed horse's head in her bed, prompting her to change her mind about high density development in the core?

I think she would just be pleased that someone brought her breakfast in bed again.

I really like the look of this building ,sleek modern design, but this being Ottawa most likely a few floors will be lopped off.

You know, Dianne Holmes was actually surprisingly constructive with Tribeca in the end, understanding that a grocer would be a boon to the community and working to make sure that the delivery truck access would be minimally detrimental to the surrounding area.

I think Council (hopefully including Holmes) realizes that a site like this, right on the boundary of the CBD and in a field of parking lots is the perfect area for a 27 story tower. I think the immediate neighbours in this northern part of Centretown will not be opposed either. I actually expect (maybe I'm just too optimistic) that this will in fact be approved by the city, no OMB challenge.
