Rise baby rise...

Will the entire structure be all cast-in-place /post-tension or structural steel (or both) ?

Great pictures! They're going to be working on floors in no time flat. This one has gone so fast, love the design too (and the height.)

Thank you for sharing your update.

I will answer my question myself (what a cocky attitude ) So far it appears to be both post-tension and and cast-in-place. If one looks closely, one can see the tendons (post-tension cables) sticking out of the formed beams. If the slabs are all post tension, this tower will go up quickly.

When is the move-in date?

They've said 2013. I've heard that full height of the structure would be complete by the end of this year, then leaving 2011-2012 to finish out the inside. If that seems plausible at all.

It is plausible. What may take the most time relative to interior construction is the intergration of all of the various systems. I have been through those processes and it is a very are long and tedious.

That sounds kinda far fetched to me, they would have to pour a floor every 4-5 days and I'm pretty sure the concrete can't cure that fast. They will probably top out the structure in about a year or so.

With the 3 pronged core like that it looks like you guys are building the Burj Dubai. Great looking building.

I like how the Sandridge Tower had that OKC Thunder banner atop the structure.

Architect2010 did an AWESOME photo thread of downtown OKC and some of its densest new infill areas, just wanted to share these two photos with the Devon tower cranes in the skyline! You should look at the rest of his photos here: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=181468

Looming over the Arts District midrises:

Peeking out from the CBD skyline (this will be an interesting angle, with the giant Devon Tower sticking out almost to the top of this frame eventually!) :

I love seeing the Ford Center in those photos. It still amazes me how OKC built something that nice for such a cheap price.

Im driving up to Kansas City today from Houston and spending the night on OKC. Second time Ive ever been to the city and the construction site is incredibly impressive compared to last time. Looking sexy OKC.

I think they went that fast with Bankers Hall in Calgary didn't they? So it may not be to far fetched.

Devon Energy unveils auditorium plans

BY STEVE LACKMEYER

Published: May 21, 2010

Devon Energy unveiled plans Thursday for a 285-seat auditorium that will overlook a new courtyard and the adjoining 50-story new office tower that will become the company’s headquarters.

Devon Energy Corp. unveiled plans Thursday for a 285-seat auditorium that will feature a 30-degree angled glass facade overlooking a new courtyard and the adjoining 50-story new office tower that will become the company’s headquarters.

The auditorium is designed to "anchor” the corner of Sheridan and Hudson Avenues, and at 42 feet tall will be the equivalent of a three- to four-story building.

"We’ve treated it as a piece of art,” said Jon Pickard, project architect. "We’ve sculpted it so that it becomes quite powerful. It’s more expressionistic.”

The designs mark one of the final features of the Devon Energy headquarters that required approval of the Downtown Design Review Committee, which unanimously approved the project Thursday.
