There isn't anything much lower than defacing your Countries flag, what a bunch of tools.

And yeah that is why we need a fence around the cauldron... spineless pukes

I have to say that I'm worried about the cauldron at the convention centre...when the Games are gone and the security has left, they're most likely going to go after it...

It looks pretty easy to patch up. It would bug me if it is not done immediately.

How on earth were they allowed to get up there?

Apparently the vandals broke into the construction site.

Disgusting. I agree that this justifies the reasons for the security at the cauldron. So much whiney moaning about the cauldron. Actually I don't think it was the people so much it was the media inflating an issue.

eh? Uhhh... murder, child abuse, domestic violence, shoplifting, animal abuse, stealing candy from babies... all rank lower on my scale than damaging a flag. But then, I place a relatively low importance on nationalism, so that shouldn't be surprising.

Has anyone heard Eddie Izzard's comedy routine on the creative use of flags? Hilarious if you haven't heard it.

I agree.

The losers that did this are total scumbags.

Too bad it wasn't done at night and spotted by the crowds nearby...they would have been lynched shortly after.

Actually a lot of people were very annoyed because of the ugly fence. I had to stick my camera through the fence just to take a descent picture.

This is pretty disgusting, but at least patching it isn't that hard to do.

and this is why we can't let the people closer to the cauldron. It'll be vandalized within seconds.

Better yet to bad a sniper wasn't watching and shot them point blank. Now that would have been cool

I've said it once and I'll say it again. "Death to idiots"

Seriously, even joking about something as cold-blooded as that is not even close to funny.

A little perspective, people.

I disagree. I think it speaks to the offensiveness of this highly disrespectful act.

And of course he's joking!
