Its not just Australia. I know of several defects we've created in our new buildings in Vancouver. All these curves, wood, nature, etc. don't belong on a building. We literally have areas of a building they can't window wash without getting access through units because the building curves and they can't jump down and get to it. The designs forced on us by the city look great, but are awful to maintain/service. There's a reason why most buildings in the world don't have trees or balconies and are just straight boxes.
Maintenance fees are going to kill many strata owners in the future as they deal with the roots of every single plant drilling into the building.
