Construction Updates

This has been under construction for a while now so here are some of my photos taken from the Homewood Suites thread on the SSP: Local Hamilton page. The last photos are the most current so this thread can be continued to update from there.

Awesome, just awesome. Seeing more than one building that is more than 10 floors going up downtown again, it's really quite refreshing...

Construction Update & A new neighbor for the Hamilton Homewood Suites by Hilton

Progress being made on the hotel. And across the street from the Homewood by Hilton hotel, the ground breaking ceremony for the new $85 million McMaster Primary Health Care Campus took place yesterday...

Overall, I find it to be a pretty generic looking hotel. Still, it's a good density builder that will encourages travelers to stay in the downtown area and support the local economy as opposed to the typical bland alternative in the boonies.

I actually really like the size of this project, and I'm anxious to see more projects go up near it in the future...

Interesting how your pictures turned out it looks like they were taken in the 70's but due to the bus and other features show its really the 10's.

Im guessing that you work in City hall? Also whats going in place of the old Hamilton school board? and whats going on with the building beside the hilton?

The photo looks like that because it was edited with an Instagram filter. I didn't take the photo, it was posted on the Hamilton Economic Development Instagram page.

This is what is going in place of the old Hamilton School Board building across the street from the new Homewood by Hilton. The new $85 million McMaster Primary Health Care Campus.

This is what is happening at the building next to the Hilton. A new 25 floor condo tower is being built and 5 floors are being added to the top of the old Revenue Canada building so it can be converted into condos.

The pictures don't make it look that great, but in real life it looks pretty good. The cladding is some kind of rock/faux rock panels that have a glossy finish on them. It looks high-end in person.

I agree that it's starting to look a bit better now, and it actually looks even bigger with most of it being closed in now.

It almost seems like Hamilton should have it's own thread in City Compilations. There's always construction going on there.
