As far as thinking that comments on this board influenced White Lodging to change the design of the JW, you make me laugh. They changed the design because they saw an opportunity with the Austin market to go upscale. The Fairmont forced their hand, not SP Forum.
As for bait and switch, Trammell Crow wasn't chosen based on public comment of the design. It was a land sale, not a design competition. If it was, Stratus would have gotten the job. Trammell Crow got the deal because they made the best offer to the City. The designs were preliminary, and have evolved. Did y'all not notice that this design is for Hanover, not Trammell Crow? TC is acting as Master Developer and selling the block to Hanover, who hired their own architect.

Glad to make you laugh, but I think you are only partially correct. The local media focused on public criticism of the bland original White Lodging proposals. White was still looking for concessions or incentives from the city. Then along came the Fairmount proposal with its sexy design. There were possibly multiple factors at work.
Could you provide more information about the involvement of Hanover in the Green Water project? I can't find anything online that even mentions it, but I may not be doing a proper search.
