Does anyone know the plan for the tower crane? 1 or multiple? When can we expect it? I would have thought they would have already started installing it.

150 Riverside's crane was erected 5 months after mat pour and Riverpoint's crane was assembled 2 months after (erected the tower and climbing system soon after the pour but crane itself took a little longer because of core I guess)

If it is gonna be bottom climbing through the core they need to get ~100 feet of the core going before they can drop the tower crane in there. If it's top climbing its probably gonna be outside of the core and they're now working on finishing the excavation around the core so a base would go in soon.

I think they wait out as long as they can without a tower crane because due to the river they don't really need one for a while. Probably cheaper that way too

Good point, monthly tower crane rental costs are astronomical. Given your excellent explanation and the fact they are forming the core/there is a monster river crane, it sounds like this might be internal.

Mat pours are impressive, but what floors me is how 4 days later they already have almost the full core framed up.

Nice! At first I was going to say it could be above sea level but I think it's already at sea (well river) level. But yea 800+ is always a nice height

nice find, spyguy.

that means the city now has 4 towers over 800' currently U/C.

that's only happened one other time in the city's history, back in the late '80s with franklin center, 2 pru, 311 s wacker, and 900 n michigan.

How old is the zoning application, though? Are we confident that this is the most recent elevation?

no, but it's the only dimensioned elevation i've ever seen for this project, so it's by far the best height information we've been given.

Last I heard from the firm itself, it was 797, but I would happily take over 800! We need as many 800-1000s to fill in the skyline gaps between our peaks.

The barge is removed by Jan 2019. Cranes go up in Jan 2019 and come down in Jan 2020.
