Very curious question but does anyone know if and what retail has talked about going into the base of this tower? It is prime Michigan Ave. space and I know Marc Jacobs agreed to move into the base of the Elysian about a year before the space would even be ready so wondering if there are any talks here yet?
Was also wondering what percentage of these units are sold at this point?
Hayward, I just saw you on Michigan Ave a couple hours ago taking those pics. I would have stopped and say hey but I had already crossed the street when I realized who you were. Anyway, nice shots!
^^^ Mmmm look at the beautiful 6 story blank wall that rises above the Omni's podium. That'll be a great addition to the Boule Mich for decades to come!

This "design" is really a hodgepodge meant to appeal to a society that lost the need/ability to distinguish between Renaissance, Baroque, Neo-Classical, Neo-Gothic and Art Deco styles. The only thing that's important is that it seems "Historical," which is really another way of saying "Pre-Modern."
That being the case, a half-way decent execution could have made this building palatable, but, judging from the details of the cladding in harryc's latest series (thanks, harryc) and its total divorce from the actual structure, it's going to be a real travesty.
