From Chicago to Miami

Canadian here, formally from Montreal, Toronto and most recently Vancouver moved to suburban Chicago 2 years ago. Now living in Miami. Here's my brief story.

Chicago to me is probably the most under-rated city in North America. I truly loved it! The people, the architecture, the history, a city with a soul and the nicest people anywhere. Some of the best restaurants and patios i've ever been to!
I loved Chicago's laxe attitude towards booze. I loved drinking wine on the riverwalk (with real glasses-gasp!) and it was no big deal. Sign of a mature city.

I lived in Highland Park (25 mi north of downtown). A 'real' main street with non-chain shops and restaurants - truly the quintessential American suburb.

And here I am. In Miami. Interesting place. Need a couple more margaritas to get the whole story. In the meantime, it's been fun

Excelent pics of both cities. Love that Muse Condo building in Miami. First time I've seen it.

72% people in North America do not reach the level of your life, nor 83% worldwide accordingly.

I stayed at Trump Hotel in Vancouver in 2017, overpriced indeed, but, well, the whole city is overpriced, so...

Terrific shots, especially Chicago. That's a distinguished list of cities you've lived in, is it fair to say Chicago is your favorite? Sounds like you like the SoFla weather though...

Thanks Aqua.

SLO - tough question but if I had to choose, yes, definitely Chicago for so many reasons. The midwest friendliness was totally unexpected. It was refreshing especially when coming from Vancouver. The music scene was also amazing.

I've only been in Miami a month now and the weather has sucked! Cloudy, rainy. It's getting better now but man, the month of May was brutal.
I'm looking forward to exploring the city. Places like Wynwood, the design district, little Havana.

That's great, I really like both cities. Most of my time in Miami has been in January to March so the weather has been pretty great. Lots to explore there for sure...

From the looks of your Miami pics you are either in Eastern Shores or nearby Aventura which are the northern suburbs.
Anyway cool pics but I have to ask what brought you to Miami?
Work? School? Mid life crisis?
