I third this opinion! THis is a sweet-looking building. Lovely colours, clean look. I'd rid it of the ironwork. Otherwise this is a beauty!

must be a bachelor... how can someone convince his wife that he needs to spend all the extra $$$$$ just to buy a house where the entire third floor is wasted with a giant model train?

That's the richest part of town. He probably bribes her with shopping trips to -oooh!- Winnipeg.

It would explain the height though. I am sure the neighbours were quite outraged at the height, as much as they are about the proposed wind turbines over a mile away.

This house is in Jacksonville, FL. How many styles are there? I spot Moroccan, Federal, Georgian, Mediterranean, Regal, and even French Rivieran. This is one of the worst hodge podges I have ever seen.

^ those above are all nice, liveble, not the best taste for the money left on them, but still all decent more than enough. Remember most who lives in those really tacky houses, spread in all world, because those above exists exagerated for couples, some times 4 people inside, a dog, orgies .... They were lucky. Own taste in other side is undiscutible in my opinion ... It is only for their private use, not yours.
PS: If I am right also, you did not put Source, and credits to your photos, not even close the rules...

First example:
Source: Artschoolvets.com http://www.artschoolvets.com/news/wp.../09/favela.jpg

Second example:

Source: Commondatastorage.com http://commondatastorage.googleapis....l/16979203.jpg

Third Example:

Sources: Blogspot.com & Arcocarib.com http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_i7DYOjNOz_...a+do+indio.jpg
http://www.arcocarib.com/assets/imag.../huis_tent.jpg

So please people not necessary to be picky for the ones who can pay a house for private use like those already showed, seems a little bit jealousy for me...

And to not comment the poor appartments, old decadent immense row 4-storey houses, bricky dark lowrises etc.

If you swapped some elements between them they might be a bit less awkward.

I take it you've never been to Montreal. Cast iron spiral staircases are standard on most of the old building stock in that city.

These homes really aren't that bad. Yeah they may be a bit overdone, But not tacky.

Where are they located exactly.

I've been there and seen them, but they get a passcard. I'm still blown away to see them in modern buildings.

Heck, I'm surprised the 20 story building I live in has spiral staircases as interior emergency stairs. The fire escapes on the outside are wider. I was only bitter when I made that post because the trash chute is by the stairwell and I slipped on some grease while circling down the steps too fast.

Apparently that house is in Mexicali, MX, not LA.

A tacky house in Massachusetts. It may be a multi-family. I especially like the American flag behind glass on the 2nd floor.
