Each floor 4 and above will be 10'? Nice to know. What are the first two floors? They look like 16' feet at least.

So I was right when I guessed this building would rise about 250 feet when I made this post lol. Cool. So the official height is 254 feet? Can you verify this? I got an okay picture from today while I was at work with my cell phone. I will post it once I am finished writing this paper (yes I'm procrastinating lol)

Thanks for the updates summers. From the pictures you posted it looks like this thing is shooting up fast! This building should really stand out on North Broad. Does anyone know if it will be visible from Broad Street in Center City (If you were at Vine and Broad for instance, would this building clearly be visible to the North?)

I'm pretty sure the building will be visible from pretty much anywhere north of Market street. The crane is currently visible from most of the northern half of Center City as well as 30th street station.

Yes this building will clearly be visible from several locations in Center City. Apparently the building will rise over 300 feet, so it will be taller than anything on campus currently by nearly 100 feet. This is also the first a few new highrise buildings being planned for Temple U... so Temple U might be giving North Philly a mini skyline.

They are using the crane to pull them out of the 3rd floor and setting them up for the 5th floor pour as we speak (well sort of it's after midnight)

This building will rise 312 feet now at 26 floors. Temple is in dire need of highrise buildings because they can not really expand out anymore. This building will add I believe 1200 beds to the campus. There is only two buildings in Center City rising lower then I would like. 2017 Chestnut Street which will only be 151 feet at 12 floors but it will replace a low rise soooo... The other is 1900 arch which will only be 167 feet. But we can chalk that one up to the NIMBYS in the Kennedy House for it being that short. The new Jefferson Tower was only 12 floors, but they were building to suit their needs, not to show off.

The others are pretty tall.
2116 Chestnut St- possibly over 400ft
Family Court Building- now 265 feet
Penn Medicine Tower- 260 feet
Chinatown Tower- 265 feet

Those are all decent heights, and the two Drexel Towers will both probably come out over 200 feet now. The Chestnut St one is 19 floors and the new Lebow building will only be (12?) floors, but it will have some pretty high ceilings, some reaching almost 20 ft.

My guess is that the reason the buildings are not taller is because:

1) there is no economic need to make them taller

2) there is economic need not to make them taller

My suggestion to those who want everything taller (I mean it's easy, right?): go out and become a developer and show everyone how it's done!
