That's like comparing a Chestnut Hill stone mansion with a Toll Bros. McMansion. I honestly feel like with Dranoff, his strategy is very similar to Toll: create an "air" of luxury as cheaply as possible. And yes, One Riverside (like SH) is still expensive and luxurious, but it's not in the same class as 1701 Rittenhouse and 500 Walnut. I don't think that was Dranoff's intention anyway.

The juxtaposition of the different architectural styles from different points in history in this area is amazing!

I can't wait to see this in person for a future visit when I tour the entire Center City.
I need to buy walking shoes because my feet are still hurting from my recent visit (dress shoes don't normally hurt unless you walk through Philly).

This building/surrounding buildings don't even feel like 380ft at all. Very deceiving

This tower is awesome. Didn't realize it was white in color form the south, and blue glass from the north!

I don't think it is. The glass has a protective treatment on it/blue wrap that won't stay after construction. In person, the paneling looks silvery. I think the white effect is just the shot and the way the light hits. Less sure on the latter. Some renders do show white paneling, and they may have put a treatment on it since I last swung by.

I suppose the windows might have a blue tint to them as well, but at present, they definitely have a wrap on them.

Is it just me, or do the frames of the windows on the southside make it look like an annex to the Penn Mutual Building? Maybe that's what they had in mind when they designed it? We (in Philly) all know that that is not the case here. Maybe after it's completed, I'll take another look. Finishing touches on a new building add a lot.

I walked by yesterday. The paneling on the Spruce street. The side paneling does legitimately look white. But the paneling on 5th street looks silvery grey. I assume a treatment will be put on it to conform to the other paneling?

EDIT: the renderings do make it seem like all the paneling will be white unless there's been a design change.

Nov 11th:

Also, this surprised me - I thought the two buildings were closer together than they actually are:

Skinny building, much more so then I expected. I like the eastern face, nice large square windows, and not just all glass.
