Good call. It really reminds me of the Armory Building at Purdue.

Did someone Photoshop out the Chase Tower in this picture? I guess they wanted the Conrad to pop.

...I'd certainly like to see more of the 'proposed' projects become reality, for obvious reasons.

Burned down by an arsonist last month. From Emporis:

The Cosmopolitan on the Canal was largely destroyed by fire on March 12, 2009, in the largest fire in Indianapolis in more than 20 years. It was topped-out, fully-enclosed, and scheduled to open to new residents in just 3 months.

I'm glad Indianapolis is finally starting to fill in their city center. Downtown nightlife is definatley there, but alot more could be done, and it looks like they're trying to do it. More pedestrian friendly retail/residential buildings, sidewalk accesable shopping, thats all going in the right direction.

And wow, thats fucked up someone burned down the Cosmopolitan. If I was the architect I'd be investing my time in a personal investigation on who did this, put a bounty on their head and see how the culprit is.

There were three similiar fires in St. Louis. The projects were near completion, but were torched by an arsonist. Maybe St. Louis and Indianapolis authorities could do a joint task force with the ATF or FBI.

The projects in St. Louis were rebuilt.

They really should have kept the RCA Dome... It looked great next to Lucas Oil Std and it would have served just as good a purpose as what their building. Would also liked for them to have done something with Market Square Arena as well.

I would just like to see the city density with more quality infill. I did see some of that already, but I hope more is one the way and it doesn't look as sprawly. Overall it is a very nice city with a great quality of life. I could see myself living there and being happy. The downtown is great and I did venture out to see the new airport and was impressed. The stadium and arena is nice. It's also nice to see the city and metro are growing at a solid pace. Things are in place for the city but densification and more of an identity is needed. I also wish the city had more of a rock/heavy metal scene than just rap and a few other genres.
