That does sound reassuring. Hoping this one ends up being a surprise hit.

I think he did buy it. There aren't any cars left on the lot, just staging for the site. I think he bought both the car lot and the mortgage shack.

That would be good news. Last time I drove by there still was car lot signage and their trailer "office". All the construction site staging was on the other side of the car lot's metal fence.

Can't wait to see proposals and developments all along that south side of King, from the AGH west. And hoping that Vranich is thinking of putting a real signature stamp on something at the corner of King and Caroline.

my only concern is with the tinting of the glass or the lack of it.... i hope there is some tint in order to block out what people clutter their balconies with .... there is nothing worse than building a nice sleek tower and then seeing bikes or crappy furniture - just my opinion

That clutter adds life and character. Just like gardens and such help a lower density residential area.

I prefer a recessed or framed balcony, personally. Shelter & privacy are always nice. I'm less concerned about the tower cladding and more concerned about what will be cladding the 1st to 7th floors.

I was wondering this too. I was down there on Wednesday and a machine was taking dirt samples from the parking lot just to the east of the car lot/mortgage building.

I'm not sure who owns it, but I am aware that there was talks of developing it. Shame for our most major intersection to be 1 half parking.
Hopefully change comes soon.

The City leases the spot from the owner. I believe the owner may be HMP but dont quote me on that.

Hi guys. I spent some time today at the King & Caroline intersection. So in the spirit of Thanksgiving ( ), please humour me when I ask this question one more time.

Exactly at the southeast corner of King & Caroline, there is a now-empty car lot, with metal fencing, a small building, and existing signage (with the old car lot name papered over with the new name).

The location I'm referring to is pretty obvious. Directly across the street is the parking lot for the Big Bee.

All the staging areas for the George and Caroline site are next door to, as well as south of, this lot. There is no use being made of it.

I'd like to know if this used-car lot has been purchased, or is it in limbo?.

Thanks.

I believe it's been purchased by the same people.

*EDIT* scratch that, I thought someone had stated it was in the thread but I can't actually find it so I can't verify it so I don't know either.

The car dealership has been closed for a while now, and I think they're using part of the lot to store rebar for the construction site next door. I'm guessing Vrancor bought it.
