Wow - that's serious! Dangerous not only for those who may be on the street, but also for those in surrounding buildings.

Incredible. The storm hast even hit and this happens... I'm stuck in manhattan as a result of the storm... I'm considering taking some photos of the incident since I'm only a few blocks south. I wonder how close I'll be able to get. Streets will be closed for sure

What i dont understand is why they didnt remove the cranes for the storm? Even the WTC still has their cranes up yet they removed them for Irene. This can be bad. Hopefully not.

Just saw this on the news, wow!

Hopefully that's the worse that'll happen with the crane.
This storm is really picking up.

Be safe everyone!

I just saw that on Channel 4 (NBC) news! I guess construction will be delayed for a little bit... I just hope everyone is alright! Trees are starting to drop in central New Jersey from the storm.
Curbed New York has an article on it.

This is one particular building I was concerned about prior to Sandy's arrival; predicted something like this would happen; I guess I was right, now what?

That's dangerous. Unless you can get photos from inside.

New Yorkers, please stay inside. NYPD have set up a perimeter around the construction site. Witnesses have described falling glass and debris coming from the site.

The worst is yet to come. Please, DO NOT go outside. Stay safe.
