yep, thats what i meant, haha.

For me, big news is either what I posted above involving sears or Vancouver's Turn.

Besides that big news for me would be another 150+ meters tower with a great design, or the proposed Lion's Gate replacement going forward and Lion's Gate will be retooled into a bike / pedestrian / transit bridge.

If it is just another multi 10 to 20 story tower redevelopment, that is not big news, that happens all the time, haha.

Don't even joke, lest you create a "war of the worlds" panic on SSP.

My guess is Macy's taking over Sears Pacific Centre. Dont freak out...it's just a guess and wishful thinking. No need for a diatribe on how this will never happen.

Second guess: Large, iconic, mainly office tower on the south-east corner of Thurlow and Pender.

Third guess: Burrard Building to be demolished and large, iconic, 700+ foot, mainly office tower to be built in its place.

I'm guessing it's an office tower, too (or Nordstrom/Sears).
Pender & Thurlow sounds interesting or the Amacon site on Melville.

Another condo tower? - no big deal.

I think we are all hyping ourselves up to much, so keep the expectations low.

In all seriousness it will be a master plan for Oakridge mall area. Which will be interesting, but nothing to get excited about.

Maybe the city is raising the height restriction to 800ft.

I don't think that is exciting enough to post tantalizing hints in the "Ultimate Vancouver Rumour Thread." Would LeftCoaster do that to us?

It's owned by Oxford now (MNP tower) and they can't even demolish it for 3 more years. Doubtful they would bring that forward right now...

Trump is going to build a hotel in Vancouver. Vancouver's Turn 2.5 is going to be a Trump project.

Hey, I like the MNP and Credit Suisse towers. My criticism of designs doesn't mean I rather not see them happen at all. On a scale of 0-10, with 5 being a pass (meaning better than nothing):

MNP - 8.5
Credit Suisse - 7
Telus Office - 5
GM Office - 5
Bental 6 - 4
Telus Residential - 4
Burrard Gateway - 3
The Mark - 4

In my case, I was joking, referring to his hard to please sensibilities. There is no need to be that snarky.

Sorry Mate: I was not being snarky with you I just get pissed with "persons" such as dleung who are never happy with anything and think they are superior to everyone. I know..."grow up".
