Is the last one Field, BC? It looks like it could be, but the river through Field always seems much wider than that to me.

My picture does have north pointing up. Remember that. I think that should be a rule, every image shown should have north pointing up. Don't make it super confusing by rotating the image around.

I just circled both islands because they were both in the shot, but yes it is Manitoulin Island. The one on the right is as far as I know the only inhabited island in a lake on an island that is in a lake.

That's gotta be around Kamloops, hilly but very dry. Elephant Hill park maybe?

It is Elephant Hills park. Love that area, seems so out of place in Canada. Especially on a super hot and sunny summer afternoon.

I was in Kamloops last summer and saw the sign off the highway. Looks like an interesting area.

I've been through there once, my friend also has a cabin in Tulameen (his parents also run the small Motel there).

It is a beautiful drive along the canyon to Coalmont.

Also, I am a geography major so studying Google Maps is one of my nerdy hobbies, hehe.

Sure! It's only about a 3 hr drive away from Vancouver, so it's not too bad, it's closer than Kamloops or Kelowna is.

You can stay at the lovely Coalmont Hotel!!!

Although, as of last summer, it appeared to have been shut down.

But really, if you can check out Coalmont and Tulameen, it's virtually another world out there...

Hehe, on Tuesday I spent an hour touring along the China-DPRK border at close range.

Maybe spending more time in Canada would be helpful for this thread.

What are those ellipse shapes? It looks almost like it is related to irrigation, but neither the topography, nor the lack of vegetation seem to support that.
