Yes. If you open up on the Recorders website too, you can view part of a document which has an address on it that leads to BRP. So - who is the architect they usually use? SCB?

The permit reads this, so no parking and total TOD?

Now we just need the Lawson House parking lot, the SE corner of Clark/Chicago, the center-block parcels on Chicago between Lasalle and Wells (south side of Chicago Ave) and Wells and Franklin (north side of Chicago Ave), and we'll have good, urban density from the Lake to past Orleans.

Anyone know if the City or the developer for the Tribune Freedom Center project(s) are going to get serious about exploring a pedestrian/bike bridge over the River at Erie? For an area so dense, it would make sense to add one. And while we're talking pedestrian bridges, a while back there was talk of putting a pedestrian bridge between Lakeshore East and Streeterville tying McClurg Ct and Field Blvd - anyone heard anything else about that? Field and McClurg might even be worth talking about a full vehicle bridge for.

Interesting, never thought about that. If anything soaking the masonry with lime is probably good for it and probably fights efflorescence by immediately dissolving any salt crystals that do form.

False, the original panels look awesome and the slight fading that has occurred just makes them look matte black which is even cooler. It's like the instagram filter called time. There has never been a moment I've ever looked at either building and thought anything other than "wow, that's a very black building". I'm wholeheartedly against messing with the structures for preservation reasons, that's like saying "man we really need to strip the facade off the Reliance building because it's chipped and stained"... No sir, we do not need to do that.

Agreed. This is like suggesting we strip the patina off of the Statue of Liberty because it no longer has that golden bronze color.

From what I've heard, the Erie bridge has been scrapped from the current plan. It can be added later, maybe, I guess?

That's brilliant! The ancient way is also the most environmentally and non-toxic way and it preserves the building the best too!

Plus, it looks like it would give concrete buildings a more interesting texture as well!

Hmm, care to elaborate why it was scrapped? Hopefully not NIMBY resistance from entitled River North condo dwellers...

Though with balcony glass that wavy and distorted maybe the patio junk won't even be visible?
