Very cool! I do always see that construction side on my way to work via S-Bahn-train and I really wondered when they would finally start the construction. It will suite the entire surroundings very well

Some more projects:

The Ernst-Reuter-Haus at Straße des 17. Juni will be redeveloped

today:

what it will look like:

Homepage of the project and source:
www.ernst-reuter-haus.de/

The Ku'damm-Karree will be redeveloped
about 500 million € are planned to be invested to redevelope the complex, which was built in the 1970s

future:

(on the right-hand side of the site you have a film of the project. It's really cool and gives a great impression of the whole thing. just click at "Video ansehen" and then chose your connection speed.

I was in Berlin last week and snapped some pics near the Zoo station, presumably of Zoofenster, thought the rendering on the board didn't have a proper name.

Here's the board:

And the project is definitely above ground, even though they're still demolishing existing buildings on the plot.

And the buildings near Hackeschmarkt look like they're topped out, or near it, at 8-10 stories. I was there at night, so no pictures.

I was down in the Spittelmarkt/Elisabeth-Mara strasse so I'll have a big update sometime in the next few weeks ofr many areas of Berlin.

this is from the other website, it appears either construction is started or about to start on new townhouses. When i was there, there was already sites under construction.

Plans nearly finalised for the extension of the tram line from Nordbahnhof to Hauptbahnhof, construction meant to start in 2011! I gather that it is the M10 line from Warschauer strasse which is to be extended?

The Hauptbahnhof doesn't have a tram stop yet? Smart to get at least one line going to there IMO.

That new hotel tho... nothing special to look at. Very bland (at least in that rendering). Otoh not everything has to be spectacular, a bit of bland can be nice.

I dunno about that tram extension, in my experience it is faster to walk from Nordbahnhof to Hauptbahnhof (around 15-20min) than it is to take the bus (245) - and I've had to do that a lot because of that reason. Invalidenstrasse can be a nightmare, so I can't imagine running a tram down it unless it has the right of way.
