Damn, man! That's a bunch of unseen renderings right there!
Where did you find these renderings? Do you know any place in Shanghai where they can be found? Not the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, I assume?

Sure will. It would be great if you could find out (on ss.cn) if these renderings can be seen somewhere in Shanghai.

Also, is the name 'Shanghai Center' the official name for this project (not for the final building I hope) now?

This one or the SOM proposal are my favourites, they look like they're the most elegant.

i have no idea, but since this project is developed by "government-linked" company of shanghai, my guess is the name is for both the project and building....

btw, do u find this name a little "ordinary"?

While this one is so attrocious it would ruin the entire Pudong skyline

Breathtaking proposals. Shanghai will soon be the number 1 supertall city.

WOW!

There are some great designs in there! So many to pick from!

One so easy to discard:

This architect missed his aesthetics lectures, huh??

Cheers,

Adam

Wow, amazing, they haven't even gone halfway on SWFC and are already choosing designs for an even taller tower. Great for Shanghai, can't wait to see the work start on this one.

For the most part, these are some sleek designs, and being the selfish bastard that I am, I'll root for the home team of SOM, even though its design is not the best, just so I may get a chance to work on it next summer or something.

And I wonder if this tower will have an obs deck; if so, it will make the one on top of SWFC pretty obsolete.

By the way, look at the tiny Oriental Pearl Tower in this rendering.
