In addition to Calgary, Buffalo is also "getting head" thanks to Jaume Plensa
"Laura" by Jaume Plensa

This one is different as its made of 30 tons of marble from Andalusia (southern Spain). It will be an excellent addition to the Albright Knox (art museum) of which the main building is comprised of 5,000 tons of marble.

Here is a link to my latest mix boys! It's a bit different than usual but I am sure that you will enjoy it once it starts chugging along!

Anyone know a place in Calgary that can fix the zipper on a ski jacket? mine is starting to go and it seems like a waste to have to get a new coat when (aside from the zipper) this one is perfectly good.

Thanks

I think MEC used to have those services. If not, maybe textile outfitters across the street?

MEC AFAIK still does repairs, requires being a member though, they repair MEC brand clothing for free, I had zipper go bad on a 6 year old jacket that they replaced for free

Textile Outfitters moved into Campers Village on Macleod around 7 years ago now

I know MEC replaces their own brand for free as long as you have your card, didn't know they actually do repairs for non MEC stuff.

Thanks everyone.

Not sure if they're still there, but there was a place in the basement of the stripmall on Heritage and Elbow that was the authorized repair depot for Helly Hanson and a handful of other outerwear companies.

Just checked Google Maps. The place is called Cyrex Repairs and their address is 8419B Elbow Dr SW

For those of you who have a Netflix subscription I recommend you check out the NFB documentary - Helicopter Canada. A helicopter view of our country from 1966 to celebrate our Centennial in 1967. It's quite interesting to see what Canada looked like before I was born. Unfortunately for Calgary they don't show the skyline

Helicopter Canada
Helicopter Canada is a 1966 Canadian documentary film directed by Eugene Boyko. It was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 39th Academy Awards. Wikipedia
Release date: 1966 (initial release)
Director: Eugene Boyko
Running time: 50 minutes
Genre: Documentary
Production company: National Film Board of Canada

You long-time Calgarians have probably always known this, but Eamon's Camp appears at around 2:50. Plus, the Jets gas station at 3:25.

Didn't go last weekend, hoping to before Christmas though. Gotta get my coat fixed first so the zipper doesn't come open while I'm going down the hill lol.

Louise just got 14cm in the last 24 hours. And I believe they are expecting another 20cm over the weekend. Oh lord.

Sunshine claimed 26 yesterday, with a base over 130. In the first week of December.

Absolutely insane so far.

Revelstoke opening day was a base of 150cm. It seems everywhere is just getting dumped on constantly.

I am thinking of going out again on Saturday to Louise, this is way too good for early season conditions.
