If you're accessing the article with a PC, just keep hitting the ESC key while the article page is loading. It may take a couple tries, but you'll be able to read the article. This works with the Statesman as well.

LOL. That's what I thought when somebody posted that on here a couple years ago. The bigger question is why the ABJ and Statesman set up their pay sites in a way that is so easily bypassed.

Another trick is to google the title of the article, and then read google's cached version.

For example:

Pool, of course.

Though listening to it, it sounds like the delay was requested on behalf of the law department.

Strangely, in the video he stated a delay only until May 24th. (around 3:20 in the zoning consent agenda video segment).
Looks like it was in fact May 24th (so it's up tomorrow). Let's see if the legal department is ready.

The Broadmoor re-zoning case must have been postponed again because it didn't end up on the CC's June 14th agenda.

Finally, it's approved. The ball is in your court now Brandywine. Build something.

Base of the tower crane installed for Domain 12 and site prep still chugging along. I like how you can see the curve already.

Rezoned for Amazon?

Speaking of Amazon, isn't the decision supposed to be announced this summer? Anyone have a better sense than that? If that holds, it could be any week now.

Some fun tea-leaf reading:

Quote:
Brandywine said Thursday that its first step will be to reconfigure a pair of buildings on the site — what it calls 906 and 908 — for new tenants. According to the company, 906 will receive lobby upgrades and other improvements while 908 will become an "amenity hub" for the campus with a fitness center, places to eat, conference rooms and meeting areas. Completion is expected in early 2019.

It's unclear what will happen with IBM. A spokesman for the technology company said in May it "has no plans to relocate in Austin." According to Brandywine's latest annual securities filing, as of Dec. 31, IBM had 48 months remaining on its lease of 784,477 square feet. IBM pays an annualized base rent of $19.5 million.

But Brandywine hinted in its Thursday announcement that it already has tenants interested in the space; it said there was "significant leasing momentum" for Broadmoor "and is expecting full lease-up in 2018."
I'm still pretty iffy on HQ2 landing here in Austin, but it's also significant that Brandywine thinks it will be 100% committed (that's 100% of 1.1M sq ft, as I read it) by the end of this year.

I'm not familiar with our zoning codes. What's the max height we might see with this rezoning?

Of the 1.1M, IBM has 784K... so they are filling leasing for the net.

Amazon's decision is still months away. It will probably be towards the tail end of the year, so September and later, maybe even November or December. There's another round of cuts coming for their shortlist.

Nice ABJ coverage of what's next for Broadmoor. It didn't seem to me that they're prepping for HQ2 really at all.

I don't recall if height info for the Domain II and Domain III office towers has been posted before. But Domain II will be 18-stories and Domain III will be 24-stories.

Quote:
Stonelake Capital Partners and HPI Real Estate Services & Investments plan to break ground in the summer of 2019 on two more buildings at the Domain: Domain Tower II, an 18-story building that will have about 325,000 square feet of space, and Domain Tower III, a 24-story building with about 305,000 square feet of space, Jenkins said.
