I thought the Starbucks thing was more than a rumor? I'm just glad it won't be a stand-alone store.

The latest articles I've read say the city's study is now recommending a slightly earlier closure time for traffic after morning deliveries, but still keeping it open during the day to traffic. It also looks at closing Decatur Street at Jackson Square but I think that's a bad idea. Decatur just needs some traffic calming measures but should be left open 247.

Here's the full study:

I think they could pedestrianize Decatur from Dumaine to Esplanade. Just make N Peters a two-way street...

Maybe pedestrianize Frenchmen at night, too.

I don't think that's necessary.. Frenchman will just turn into more of a tourist trap than it already is and I can tell you the residents in the Triangle don't want that. Hopefully the airbnb crackdown will help that out too (although it definitely should be closed during halloween) I think Decatur does fine honestly considering how much traffic both car and people go through there and its really only super backed up on weekends.. Closing that off would make the quarter just about impossible to cross. If anything they just need to time the lights better.

Camp Street

I noticed they're finally doing construction along coliseum square park at camp street. I remember a while back someone having photos of a really cool proposed bioswale going in to help the flooding, does anyone still have those and is this whats going on?

CC's closed Canal Street

So I went to go get a coffee from CC's on Canal Street and it closed down, already! There's a "For Lease" sign up on the building. That's so disappointing. People had so much faith in this location, and now people will argue Mid-City can't support such a business.

I asked about that to someone that knows what was going on and it's a much more complicated story than that... I'll just leave it at that .

That said the location is on council agenda seeking some changes to its conditional use

Is there a chance it will reopen? Did it have anything to do with the pavement? Do tell!
