Its expected to be completed by Q4 2018.

I'd wager interior work is occurring. Its quite high end, so the interior work will take much longer than your run of the mill skyscraper.

Vornado has quite a task at selling some of the units. The prices could very well break records. The demand is there, but nevertheless, when your selling $50+ million units, it becomes a super niche audience. The top portion aka duplex, could be the most expensive unit in the cities history. Much more than what 432 Park commanded which was a little north of $85 million.

Looks like a lot of window placement remaining (which won't take long in hindsight), interior work to me. The hard part, the actual structure and the facade for the most part is placed. Topped out, and the crane eventually will come down. Interior work on many skyscrapers could take close to a year to finish depending on the tower assuming they did it in stages, as it ascends, the lower levels receive cladding, and begin some form of interior work. Speaking in general here.

It looks like it has always been there. Except it's by far the tallest member of the family.

It definitely fits in, but it also doesn't stand out. For a Central Park-lining, price record-breaking skyscraper, it feels lacking. There's no grace, no verticality, no synergy of the design elements that transcends the materials. It's just kind of there. It's pleasant enough, but it doesn't stir me at all.

It suffers from the same problem as the one of his in Chicago. The visual rhythm of the fenestration feels inert because it's pulled in too many directions. I don't know if it's the window sizing, the ratio of solid to void, or what. And its skyward ascendancy has no thrust.

I like of lot of their smaller-scale work, but their skyscrapers don't do it for me.

This pretty much sums up how I've felt about Stern's work for quite a while. The initial renderings always give me so much hope but every time I can't help but feel disappointed. The massings are usually great, but the facades of his buildings are just so flat and boring if not messy. The window placement seems so random and awkward most of the time. I got excited for a bit when I saw his building in Chicago would have bronze-colored panelling to break up the monotony, but rumor on this site has it that even those might be cut out to save costs.

I understand using the same level of detail and quality of materials like the original Art Deco buildings isn't realistic, but at least give your buildings something so it's not just a single shade of beige throughout.

I think 520 Park Avenue is a much better building. I like the limestone skin used there better, and it's somehow more striking and distinctive. But despite being a little bland, it's nice to see this one march to completion. If nothing else, the limestone is a nice foil to other buildings in the area.

Hard to judge this one without letting it finish. The middle isn't as important as the crown and the base. This one will likely exceed expectations.

220 CPS really gives the Columbus Circle area, a rich presence alright . .
it's now starting to feel so classically & timelessly New York around there . .
so culturally international, like parts of Paris . .
with a world-class urbane aesthetic all its own . .

220's looming limestone so goes with the pastoral landscape of the park . .
with its rock outcroppings . . lakes & horse-drawn carriages . .
with the grandness of the Maine memorial & the columbus pillar monument . .
with the traffic circle framing circular fountains . .

220 is easily worthy company for the other great CP apartment towers . .
the almighty Beresford, the spooky Dakota, the sublime San Remo . .
also prestigious CP hotels like the plaza, the Pierre, Sherry Netherland . .
the CPS-Columbus Circle area is as auspicious as ever . .
thanks in large part, to this elegant edifice . .
