Prague, May 15th 2007

Here’s a second series of Prague pictures, the date is May 15th 2007.
From the hotel a colleague and I walked to the Old City Square (where we had a “pitstop” at a terrace)
and from the square we went to the Karl’s Bridge.

Enjoy!

1. Streetscene (Celnici).

2. Zoompicture.

3. Contrast.

4. City portal.

5. Street-acrobat, close to the old citysquare.

6. Red car.

7. Relaxing.

8. Car advertisement wrapped around an old statue. The revenues of the ad are used to restore the statue.

9. Terrasses on the square.

10. Squarescene.

11. “Jan’s new statue”.

12.

13.

14. This is also on the old citysquare.

15. Squarescene.

16. Nice houses (Male Namesti).

17.

18. Restaurant.

19. Advertisement for the musical Cats in the black light theatre.

20. Big brother’s watching…

21. Marionette theatre.

22. City portal along the Karl’s bridge.

23. View of the other bank of the Moldau.

24. The Karl’s bridge.

25. The Castle.

26. The Moldau.

27. People enjoying the view.

28.

29. Beggar on the bridge.

30. Tourists.

31. Finally the castle once more.

Beautiful.

Looks like a mix of Warsaw, Paris and Stockholm.

Amazing! I have no doubt that Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Its architecture, which is very good-looking, impress me a lot! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful scenery, perhaps one day I'll get to visit Prague. Now I heard good things and bad things about this city. Some say its overated, rude and very expensive. Judging from just the few pictures it looks like an awesome city. I also realize this is just a small part, and perhaps the tourist area. My interest would be to visit where the locals hang out and see how they live.

I now see by what Smetana was so inspired. Thank you for the charming tour!

Prague is such a beautiful city. I made it there a couple years ago when I went to Europe and loved it. People told me it was expensive too, but, it was cheap compared to the other western european cities I went to. The majority of people I encountered there, unfortunately, did seem to have a disagreable attitude overall. Not necessarily rude, just not terribly friendly either (especially compared to the Dutch in Amsterdam I visited after Prague). Even some people we talked with on the train from Prague to Amsterdam said the only friendly person they encountered while in Prague was the owner of a bookstore who was actually from Slovakia. Don't know why many of the Czechs seemed that way. But, no one was overtly rude and the city is so beautiful, anyone who can should take the time to visit. Thanks for the photos.
