11. E Condos (Toronto): 194.4m / 638ft
E Condos, yesterday (cell shots on a rainy evening.....quality is poor because of such weather)
I gotta say, I think the balcony material will look good on this tower, it'll just be a while before it gets installed fully.

I can't wait until the list is updated.....

We'd add another tower to the list and set Casa III, 3 Civic Plaza & Solo District - Altus to topped out

Great update! Interesting base shape, will be interesting to see this guy rise later on.

Ok, take a look again at those two images, one is typical windowall, the other a much higher quality hybrid window. The standard windowall side is broken up into separate panels for the lighter and darker glass sections, on the east side the glass itself is two tone and a solid piece. The east side looks much nicer then the west. I'm curious as to why they chose to spend more money on one side then the other, and why they chose that side to do it on.

They look the same. One's a head on picture while the other is from the side. Isn't this your field? Maybe there's one less mullion on the east side. It's not a big deal.

Cost wise it would be a big deal. Not sure how one would say they look the same especially someone who loves to be super critical about things but it's you responding to something I posted so I'm not surprised.

And just what field is it you think I work in?

I don't know why I'm bothering given your tendencies to think everyone with an opposite opinion is against you.

All I see is one mullion missing between the grey and clear glass with one side having half fritted floor to ceiling glass and the other side having a spandrel panel/half wall. The effect or appearance is essentially the same. The cost should be similiar. It boils down to suite layouts like with every other spandrel panel.

Media, graphic and/or website design.

I'm really puzzled by the excitement that Toronto members have toward E condo, which looks to me so average and boring, even compare to other Toronto projects. Is it because of the location ?

I'm from Toronto. I don't care how E Condos is turning out.

Colour is a huge selling point over at urbantoronto. It's the easiest way for a project to receive a stamp of approval. I do still think the red was a sound idea for the overused protruding amenity box here. The spandrel red covering the concrete slabs is distracting.

I'm only liking this project because of it's design. It may not be anything too amazing, but I find the use of dark cladding and that bit of red to look better than something being built by say Concord. It's different from a generic condo design, even if there is a bit of white spandrel in the towers cladding, and some awkward work around design in the rental tower. The podium is clunky, but it's black glass is a nod toward the Canada Square complex, and the retail that'll open up in that stretch should be alright.

I wish they kept the rental tower as that slabby massing, but a twin tower design is fine........

Once the transit line is done, it'll be interesting to see how the TTC entrance from this tower complex should work.
(Part of me still wishes this site wasn't redeveloped, but it's barely a loss compared to other buildings torn down around here.)

I liked the design. I don't like how it's being executed. Not sure why Concord was brought up however, there's a number of Cityplace towers I prefer over E Condos. Nothing recent though.

Great updates Coldrx! The transition for the hotel section to residential looks much better than I feared.

It really is. The JW mixed use will surpass many expectations.
