I stood at the base of these towers for the first time yesterday and it was freakin epic! When viewed from street level its huge (and dominates all life forms!)

I did notice however, that when viewed from the highway, the curves aren't the most visible but we're bound to see some extreme curves as we move higher up!

truly epic stuff happenin here !

After taking all these pictures I am still in awe of the building...it is truly going to be iconic in every sense of the word...

I agree ^^^

These towers will really be iconic not only in Canada's architectural world but for Mississauga!

The towers have already given the city alot of attention (the proof is in this thread!)... These towers will be totally different than anything! Its gonna be sweet! (as long as they don't build anything bigger! )

One of the most beautiful and iconic buildings under construction right now in North America. Wish it had been built in Toronto instead of Mississauga. But alas.. Mississauga deserves it, after having to deal with all my crapburg jokes all the time...

Does mississuaga have a good urban feel to it, like are there a lot of people walking around, or is it more like the Galleria of houston, with a lot of tall towers, but not much action on the street?

For the longest time Mississauga's City Centre was nothing more than a collection of tower in park highrises and office buildings, a large shopping mall (one of the biggest in Canada), a few civic buildings (Living Arts Centre, City Hall, Library) and wide streets - not very pedestrian friendly to say the least but the times are a changing. Over the past few years a concerted effort has been put forward to dramatically transform the city centre from a car-oriented place into a vibrant and pedestrian (cyclist) friendly urban core. Over the past five years or so thousands of new residents have moved into the "downtown" core with thousands of new people to come. I would say that next summer will be a good indicator as to the state of things because a number of new civic type projects will be completed per the following.

Some of the new projects on the go and to come...
1> Parkside Village (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=755480)
2> New Sheridan College campus http://www.mississauga.com/news/loca...college-campus
3> Redevelopment of the Civic/Library Square
http://www.mississauga.ca/file/COM/F...entation_1.pdf
4> New Urban Parks
5> Bus Rapid Transit and Light Rail Transit http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...41769&page=120
6> Quite a few new condo projects
7> Plan to create 600km or 400+ miles of new bike paths linking all the major nodes and the villages (Port Credit, Streetsville, Clarkson, etc which are very nice to start off with) within its borders.
8> etc

Mississauga is a city in transition (suburban to urban, "suburb" to city onto itself) transition and will take years to transform itself into a urban centre and rid itself of a lot of the bad urban planning that it inflicted onto itself over the past couple of decades. Unfortunately, some of the most obvious eyesores have overshadowed a lot of the great areas that can be found throughout Mississauga.

5 years ago if I would have said that 2 of the nicest and most unique condo towers would be built in Mississauga, I would have been chased out of Ontario and told not to come back.

^^^
Wow, I am very impressed, that master plan is simply incredible. In twenty years it looks like Mississuaga will possibly even rival downtown Toronto. I cant believe it, they are basically building a thriving mass transit oriented downtown from scratch in an area that is now just mall parking. Its pretty impressive considering I had never heard of Mississuaga until I saw this thread a couple months ago.
