Hey, I'm GJF85, and I'm new to Skyscraper. I'm from the Fargo-Moorhead area, but I have a question: Could anyone give me any background information or history on the Noridian Mutual building that was previously the Factory Outlet Mall? All I know is that it is located on 42nd Street South in Fargo. I would really appreciate it.

Construction activity in Fargo-Moorhead strongest since 2007

Quote:
FARGO – The construction industry in the Fargo-Moorhead area is having its strongest year since 2007, building permit information compiled by the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead shows.

Total construction value for the first half of the year is more than $263 million, up almost $100 million from the same period in 2011, said Terry Becker, the association’s president.

^Great news about our strong metropolitan area. Bucking the trend! I like it!

In other news...the Kilbourne Group extended their purchase agreement for the US Bank block in downtown Fargo.

Great research, I just checked out the architect's Wikipedia page, and aside from the Metrodome it looks like they generally build beautiful, monumental buildings. That's very intriguing; I'm excited to see what evolves there!

There's a sign for a new McDonald's at the corner of 45th Street and 49th Avenue (I think) in Osgood. Also, I heard through the grapevine that another McDonald's might be going in near the Stop-N-Go on Veterans Boulevard (near the future Sanford). A Big Mac with a coronary bypass anyone?

Looks like the Costco in West Fargo is progressing really fast, noticed the signage already up on the building, good to see that there will also be a Costco gas bar.

Moorhead is getting another big box retail store. This time it's out by Menards and they're being very hush hush about it. Some guesses for the store which is to open in 2014 were Sams Clubs or Kholes. Anyone have any insight onto what it actually is?

It appears that Fargo now has direct flights to Dallas-Ft.Worth through American Airlines. That should really help drive business and cause ticket prices to be more competitive...

High Point Networks is building a new office building across I-94 from the new Costco. Lots of new (and nice) office buildings going up in this area!

Speaking of office buildings, Brookstone Property is building their 12,000 sq ft headquarters down between 45th St. and Veterans Blvd and 52nd Ave S.
