Good post. And you're right, certain skylines depict certain design styles. What might look great in Vancouver could look out of place in Toronto or Vice versa.

What amazing podiums? Can't think of any apart from MLS, Aura, and arguably Trump.

The slate and randomly placed windows on a 5 star hotel podium is underwhelming at best but what we'll have to wait until the courtyard/driveway is finished to judge.

I think he meant on a large portion of downtown Toronto condos podiums are over 5 floors high. They don't get that in Calgary, so to kw they would be nice to haves.

Ya because of the 100+ new buildings we have and the ones u/c only 3 have podiums. The 4 Seasons has more then one side FYI, it's a total 5 Star development. Also trump does not have a podium. I'm sure kw5150 meant podiums such as these as well as 4 Seasons, and Aura.

Off the top of my head.

Yes, our podiums are really nice, but smaller in scale. Only recently have we started seeing the larger ones.

So am I allowed to say this is one of the best of the recently completed skyscrapers? Certainly the pinnacle of Candian design and understated elegance. So much more than a glass box, very easy to see how it contrasts beautifully with, and reflects the surrounding buildings.

A better "Canadian designed tower" then? Even among the Completed or recently completed constructors. Which was the outline of my first statement on this matter.

At least if you give me some examples we can at least put this debate in perspective.

How about we just accept that different people have different opinions. Caltrane, your opinions do not constitute fact.

Good point. It'd be a hell of a place to spend a night but no architectural marvel.

Good point, but I must ad a negative comment on the end of my remark to show I don't really think it's a good point.

Try to be a little less obvious.

Are we talking about Canadian design or buildings that just happen to be in Canada? Because if it's the former, the Bow and Jameson House don't count as they were designed by a British firm.

BTW - nice cows in the lawn. If anything, that warrants note!

This complex is considered the masterwork of one of the world's greatest pioneers in modern architecture, so yeah, it belongs in the discussion.
