Thanks

Highways could help going through those areas but are not necessary. They help move traffic around the city faster and will help get sims to there jobs in the CBD.

They are not a must have if you have a good transit network. your city can survive without highways but I like to have a balance between transit and car dependent trips.
Also downloading the NAM from Simtropolis will help with transit and make highways less useful. They are still nice to have to make more realistic cities.

Thanks for the info. I agree highways make the cities look more realistic.

And those tall buildings near that avenue ...

Look at all of that sexy industry. Very nice industrial section. I guess your city doesn't have NIMBY's . There probally at the bottom of the water with weights attached to their legs.

Working on the downtown core for the region. Recreating the Toronto street grid from the Waterfront to Gerrard and Spadina to Sherbourne with Yorkville added.

Unfortunately there aren't many Toronto buildings so I'm improvising.

That river running through the middle of the map doesn't exist. The larger river it connects to in two locations does, though.

That map isn't centred on the city, either, parts of it are cut off at the north and east edges.

In the Canada section I explained on adding the extra river so I could make a Manhattan style city on the island.

That was that best image I could find with the contours on it to make the landscape to create the region but it won't be a recreation of Thunder Bay anyway.
I just like the landscape in the area so that's why I choose to create that region.

That's a great looking city.

I actually really like the white office building with blue-tinted windows. (to the bottom left of the brown-red office building)

Started a new region that will have one half of it as a big metropolitan area and the other half will be rural farmland with some towns and small cities scattered about.
This is the first small city I created called Laird with a population of 22,600.

Laird Agricultural Fairgrounds.

Laird Golf & Country Club.

Agricultural land surrounding the town of Laird.
