[Burnaby] Wilson Avenue

A new building for Metrotown, should be complete in 2014. Yes, the name is Wilson Avenue.

Looks pretty nice actually, but still is another tower-in-the-park... What's the deal with Burnaby?

Again, Burnaby shows zero effort to create any sort of street life. I really dislike the "put ALL retail on Kingsway or in a mall" model adopted by this area.

This tower will be in the place of an affordable rental building. Does anybody know if these affordable rental units will be replaced by the developer?

Interesting... a little bland perhaps but anyway... and yeah I seriously don't get the city in the park concept either... just empty, bland... no street life whatsoever, in addition to encouraging people to still use their cars to do anything else other than go to work... ><"

Would a typical developer have an incentive to build below market value housing in a new development?

Yea didn't think so.

I actually really like this tower. I know some of its architectural elements are redundant, but I think it looks nice and will really spruce up the area its in. One or two more like this in that area and the western side of Metrotown will start looking as modern as Brentwood soon
