from emporis.com

from skyscrapers.tw

The developer is Far Eastern Group, it should be built in 2004 and finished in 2008. But the economy just not good in these ten years. So it become a vision.

The main reason is that urban planning in the past didn't change a lot since Japanese colonial period until 1980s. And also when they did urban plan in new district, it's just not comprehensive enough. However, this day, Taipei city council do a lot of attempts and try to change urban landscape. (台北好好看都市計劃 is one example) There are not too much land in Taipei city, it is hard to change Taipei in short time.

It may be another reason, it may be not. There are two administrations in the same metro area. (Taipei city and Taipei county) Since I started to pay attention on urban development in Taiean, I find it is hard to integrate these two adminstrations from political reason.

For Kaohsiung, this photo can show something! They have space to build a big project and also they have ambition.

The industry in this area will remove.

I remember Kaoshiung city government has vision, but problem still same, there is political issue between Taipei and Kaoshiung....

I still think if centre government invest Kaoshiung a lot, Taiwan economy will not be this bad.

Good news from skyscrapers.tw, the same company I was talking about Taipei centre station southeast redevelopment, the redevelopment which near Shing Kong Life Tower is going to approve. It will be at least 30 storeys office tower.

^ great addition....

at least I am happy that Taipei is building their metro system really fast...where did they get all the funding anyways? To be more specific, what level of government provides the most funding?

I am reading a book which is called High-Rise Manual, it is about the issues around high-rise building include managment, history, content....etc.

One I am interesting is in the section about managment. It says, The heart of every project is the task itself, the goal formulated by the client. This document describes the desired values of the completed building. These should require no explanation, one would think, yet practice has demonstrated only too frequently that problems occur even at this early stage of a project. This may br due to a client's inability or unwillingness to make decisions with regard to the desired quality or due to a lack of knowledge in terms of methods of defining goals.

I just think different prespectives give different views. Most projects have this problem, people involve hardly integrate their ideas into common solution.

Basically, what I going to do is I post rendering and completed picture for completed project. The construction picutures I will not respost.

And for proposed project, I post final rendering and delete unnecessary information. So it is kind of reorganise. The problem the threads have been posted already....
