Because of Harvey hurricane. In my perspective, it is not much more related from this post to my links. It is not bad to comment on a post about Austin, Dallas happenings. Dude, it is my free will to post on any forums here. As long as I am not violating any rules here.

I'm pretty sure you misunderstood my post that you quoted.

You are welcome to post here, the more the merrier. ATX was only asking you a question. It's nice that you are interested in what is happening here. It's just some of your English translations are difficult to read. Also take into advisement that context can be a little difficult when communicating through the computer even between people speaking the same language let alone translating from one language to another. Nobody here including myself meant anything negative. We are just curious about you.

SSC has a lot of non-English threads, and I've used the translation feature to read a lot of the threads. I can easily understand the confusion that comes from that. Even the Spanish to English translations which I think would be one of the easier translations, is sometimes a mess.

Shakespeare is hard to follow in Spanish, especially because I don't speak Spanish, but I'm sure it loses something in translation. Levity...

The Southfield Building, an office tower at SH-71 and I-35, was sold recently, and the buyer plans renovations. They were talking about the property and the assets, especially the views of downtown. They mentioned adding a rooftop restaurant or even an observation deck. Few people realize, but this building actually has a helipad on the roof.

It's behind a paywall for me. Any chance they're going to add more buildings to the site? Get rid of some of those surface lots? Not that this is in a particularly walkable area, but still....

The parking was one of the assets they mentioned. They even mentioned the abundance of parking in the adjacent Walmart parking lot. I wonder how Walmart feels about that. I doubt if they let people park their RVs there overnight that they'd let it be overflow parking for an office building. Besides, I don't think the two parking lots are connected anyway. From what I remember there's a bit of a wall separating the two.

Interesting. No, they don't seem to be connected.

That used to be the site of a drive in movie theater, and there was a Jim's restaurant next to it fronting Ben White.

Hey, Kevin, getting another CVS in your neck of the woods.

https://abc.austintexas.gov/web/perm...rtyrsn=5407313

NE corner of Manchaca & William Cannon. Replacing that convenience store and Carpets by Conrad.

Weird. I had been wondering what they were doing there. I looked up the permits and I swear it said something about some private workshop or something and that they were planning on moving a building to that location from outside of Austin, which seemed unlikely. This makes more sense. CVS actually already has a location across William Cannon in the shopping center where Cici's Pizza is. That location also used to be an Eckerd's Drug Store many years ago. There also used to be a Walgreens across Manchaca in the unit nearest to William Cannon in that small shopping center across from where they're building the new CVS.

My mom worked in a pet store as a dog groomer in the early 80s in the shopping center where the Cici's Pizza is, somewhere in the middle of the shopping center facing William Cannon on the backside of it. Our grocery store back then was a Safeway in the building where the Sprouts is now.
