they would be nowhere near as prominent from that angle as the image depicts them.
That's basically what I told him, I also told him to add 451 e grand.

looks like another rendering from the Chinese sweat-shop mill...

they are always full of inaccuracies (look at the Hilton) and lack of detail in the building (what happens to that massive structure when it enters the base, or for that matter, the tower itself)

also find it hard to believe that the bottom floor section of the tower portion will remain that thin while concealing all the necessary plumbing and other mechanicals...

I stumbled across an alternative design for 61 West Erie. Considering that project has gone absolutely nowhere, I thought it might be worth sharing another iteration.

From what I gather the ordinances regarding the Michigan Ave. street wall protect existing buildings from modification or demolition but do not set restrictions on height density etc. for open lots.

Me either, though the current mayor seems to have a case of situational ethics when it comes to landmarks.

It's the Jahn building at 1000—two and a half times the height of anything in the district—that I can't see possibly being approved.

Exactly.

113 E Roosevelt is roughly the same height as Chase Tower and considerably further south. The same goes for 1000 S Michigan, though less so based on height an relative position. Wolf Point needs to be scaled relative to Trump (ie shorter), etc.

Do you know anyone who would speak out in protest?

Studio Dwell River North Proposal?

So, the alternate 61 W Erie design that's popped-up, as well as talk of Studio Dwell over in the General Developments thread have reminded me: What's happened with that really nice 20-25 story Studio Dwell-designed proposal in River North? Would love to see some movement there.....

I presume that both Landmarks Illinois and Preservation Chicago would be concerned.
