AWESOME!!!

Thanks for the pics...

I heard that from the top floors or the top floor pool area you will be able to see Denver and the surrounding areas?

Does anyone know if there is any truth to that? Cause if so? That is going to be one HELL of a view.

I'm confused. The SSP diagram states that the Ameristar tower is 24 stories. However the title of this thread states that the tower is supposed to be 33 stories. Then I've also heard 32 and 34 stories. Does anyone know the official amount of floors that this building is supposed to have?

It is to be 33-stories tall, unless there was some reduction in height after construction already began, which went unannounced by media sources. It will be Colorado's tallest building outside of Denver--I believe I gave read.

There are already quite a few large structures close to that. Nothing close to that tall, but still very massive.

I haven't been up there in quite awhile so I'm not sure how it looks at its full height, but it wasn't overly menacing before.

I agree with enjo13

Its been over a year since I've been there, but the casino's were pretty good sized with multi-level parking garages. Its going to be interesting if this Casino will have national acts and so forth. Hopefully the rooms will be reasonably priced. It may save traveling to Vegas once or twice a year with the larger stakes.

These are from October...

I think the top floor at that time was about 30. With the passage of the expanded gaming amendment, we could see more of this in Black Hawk, that is if the economy permits.

Thanks for the updates, Kid Konza! That building is, no question, an absolute BEAST in its location! And it's going to be quite nice when it's done!

Does anyone have any current pictures of the AmeriStar Hotel & Casino? I think it is closer to topping off now.

I can't wait for this thing to be complete! I wanna go stay the night up there up in like the 30th floor and see if I can get some sick ass pics of Denva from there...

Wooo Hooo Denva ROCKS!!!

I highly doubt you'll be able to see Denver from the top. Google Earth seems to indicate that the mountains to the east of Black Hawk range between 9,500 and 10,000 feet. The location of this tower is at about 8,000 feet, so it would need to be as tall as the Sears Tower to even have a remote chance of seeing Denver.

Yes, I doubt there will be any views of the plains east in teh east at all. But it will be high enough to provide views over the immediate mountains, possibly enough to get some of the views of the nicer, snow-capped peaks further west. I'm sure that's more important in this mountain gambling resort than anything.

That's one of my favorite things, heading west on I-70, I think around Genese, where the view just opens up...

Sorry, I also think it would be awesome if that were possible. Sometimes I think we loose perspective about just HOW tall the mountains really are. To put it in perspective... The top of the Ameristar is 350 feet above the ground which is at 8,000 feet. The street level of main street in Central City just up the gulch is 8,450 feet. So the top of the Ameristar is actually lower than Central City.
