A webcam has been installed on the north side of Hwy 1, at 216th. Only thing is, the project website hasn't been updated since April, so I have no idea how to access the cam.

I hope the construction moves faster than they update the website.
A minor update after one year.

I still think that the highway should be expanded to 6 + 2 HOV all the way to Whatcom Road, and then 6 lanes to Hope. The existing proposal will only reduce traffic congestion for maybe 10-15 years before it reaches capacity again?

I though 216th Street was going to be 4 lane from Hwy 1 to 88th Ave. After looking at the drawing on the update, 216th is choked down to a 2 lane road between Telegraph Trail and 88th Ave. That seems rather stupid.

Notice on the update diagram that the responsibility for that portion conveniently lies with the Township of Langley...

My understanding is the township is on the hook for the remaining road works. So it will be a few years before it gets done. Just like 208th is still 2 lanes for most of it south of the freeway

I was driving out to the Fraser Valley a short while ago, and saw the Province construction sign regarding the expansion out to 264th, and the sign indicated that completion was summer 2024, five years from now. Did they only assign ten people to the project?

The signs mean nothing, just for show.

Remember the Massey Bridge signs saying "2017" from back in 2012?

Geez Louise, is the construction on this project slow. In the last 2 months there is only a few workers visible on the whole project. A fraction of the workers that use to be visible on it. I don't know if something is taking longer than expected, but the 2 traffic diversions under the 216 overpass desperately need their lines repainted, as they disappear when driving through there at night when it is raining.

We drove through on a rainy night and there were virtually no painted lanes. In fact you see the old lane marker imprints easier at night, which throw drivers off and almost cause collisions. This is totally unacceptable.

Welcome to the typical inferior BC road maintenance. Shocked there isn't more accidents or complaints about this to the media.

This project should be open in the next few days

This project should be open in the next few days. Paving is all done, barriers are almost all in place, and a few lines need to be painted yet.
It lines up pretty close to the "end of August" response I received when I asked when the project would be finished, back in July.

Pretty ridiculous a project as "small" as this took over 3 years to build.

Here's proof back in 2017 of construction starting:

agreed what a joke.

one can only imagine how long the next segment of widening to 264 will take to actually complete ......
