I noticed it yesterday, I am guessing this crane is close to being at full height, which if that is the case, this building will really stick out for that area. It is gonna be a good looking tower, and hopefully not a lonely tower in that area.

It won't be a lonely tower for long. That whole area is exploding along with Lloyd and soon up Burnside and Sandy, I hope. We need streetcar extensions in the next few years to catalyze development.

I walked over the Burnside bridge today to take a look and now I'm more confused. I thought this thing was between 3rd and MLK, but it's actually between 2nd and 3rd. The block between 3rd and MLK is cut in half by Couch. So what goes between Couch and 3rd? It seems like an awkward interface, to say the least.

That half block between 3rd and Couch was proposed as a bike station similar in design to the podium of the Skylab tower. Also, the Dumbbell is going in the other half block between MLK and Couch.

Whats the status of the bike station? Who is the developer, if there is one?

It was shown in the Design Review drawings, but for reference only.

I wonder if there's any talk of redeveloping the parking lot behind the white older building right next to block 67? That would be an awesome little enclave/tie in to add retail and some more high rise/interesting housing, in my opinion.

Rode my bike to work at sunrise this morning, and caught this shot looking east across the river with the crane in view. I couldn't help but imagine how this shot would look when the building is complete. I thought I would share.

That's a great pic! Even better when the building is complete.

I had a little time to kill, so I whipped out Photoshop to create a mock-up vision what we will see in a year from now.

I keep seeing that crane and thinking how much of an impact that tower is gonna make right along the river. I love how it will stand out, but kind of hope we get to see that area bloom with towers to give it company in the next decade.

Awesome, looks like they are starting to rise up above Burnside. I can't wait to see this tower go up. Hopefully we will see a few more like it in Lower Burnside.

It is so awesome to see this building starting to take shape, it will completely change the look and feel of the Inner Burnside area.

Agreed. It will look looming when there's morning fog! I dream of a varied, and fine-grained high rise east-waterfront someday for Portland. This could be the foundation!

Here is a quick photo from my car today, and this project is clearly rising above the Burnside Bridge now

This is from Wednesday. It's starting to make a noticeable appearance across the river.

This is a photo from last week that I forgot to post. You can clearly see the tower rising above the Burnside Bridge now
