That hit stat always perplexes me a bit. You always hear it touted by the commentators - but IMO, if you are out there hitting everything, it also means that you don't have the puck.

Typically, with the Jets, if they are out-hitting the opposition, they are also losing.

The oilers problems start with the goal and radiate outwards. There are definitely some holes in the positions beyond goal though.

I think they will be fine though. Lots of youth, and time to right the ship. Not this season, but build it towards next season.

Edmonton has shit defense and everyone has known it for years! Cam Talbot bailed them out quite a bit last year and the D got even more complacent. Edmonton's problems are quite obvious to me...

Just back from a fireside with Bobby Nick and Peter Chia. They certainly heard very direct comments from the crowd and I left without a sense of confidence.

Flames are in Deadmonton tonight, I actually expect this to be a pretty good game, both teams have something to prove right now, and who better than your arch rival.

Nice to see Marchand get a 5 game suspension. That is the 6th suspension of his career, costing him almost $900K in games missed and fines. Next time will probably be at least a 10 game suspension. He is a dirty hockey player and a POS. He has very little respect left among players in the NHL. His specialties are slew footing, wacks to the groin, and head shots.

Hey right on, 8 straight wins against the flames. Not every game you win twice in one night.

Goalie interference is an absolute joke this year.

And Oilers fans handled this call with their usually aplomb littering the ice with garbage and raging at the cameras, Kevin Lowes tier 2 fans at their finest!

There will always be a few, come on now, but it was a terrible call.

It was only terrible in the context of what hasn't been called goalie interference this year.

Calgary had a goal waved off in the playoffs last year that was very similar.

Hmm kind of like the call that wasn't made last year on Ryan Kesler, visibly lying in the crease, holding Cam Talbots pad with his free hand? Quite likely costing the Oilers a berth in the Western Final

The NHL and their shit-uation room are a complete joke, not to mention the complete inconsistency in what is and isn't called on a regular basis

Got a big laugh watching McDavid tell the refs to go upstairs on his shootout goal, hilarious

The situation room does NOT make the call on goaltender interference. It's the refs on the ice with the tablet.

Didn't realize the OT goal didn't count until this morning, was super confused as to why everyone was talking about a shootout lol. Guess I should have watched for another few seconds after the goal...

Now we are well into this hockey season the top teams are really starting to break away from the packs. Aside from the central division that is a lot closer the other three all have clear leaders. My favorite being Vegas.

I don't ever really care to see Vegas play here in Toronto but i do want to see the Leafs play in Vegas. It looks like a fun place to see your team as a visitor.
