hkskyline's 2017 in Shenzhen

Nanshan is located in the southwestern part of the city. Although not a typical tourist destination, locals head up this hill in droves to enjoy a good hiking work-out and a great view of the city. The ascent from the Sea World metro stop is a bit easier and the views get better as you head up.

A new skyline cluster is emerging just outside Houhai metro station. An elevated pedestrian-only shopping street makes the experience a bit more pleasant, while there are also shops on the lower covered deck, although shared with vehicles.

Clear skies! She certainly is a master of a city-region.

great thread --- the exploding growth is really something else.

i think i like the apt bldgs over the office buildings so far.

interesting to see they have a cheaper looking american copper style bldg. or perhaps ny has a fancier version of that one?

I believe they are oyster farming rafts or some sort of fishing equipment. On the Hong Kong side, the fishing village of Lau Fau Shan that fronts the bay is quite famous for oysters.

I like the building with the Tencent signage up top. Is that their headquarters?

Interesting district, like a city of its own. Shenzhen feels very modern and westernized. It was very foggy and grey when I was there some years ago, would love to see some of these blue skies during my visit.
