didn't think it was going to snow today. weren't all the weather forecasts predicting rain and mild temperatures all day today? strangely sfu didn't close even though there were stranded buses and cars all the way up the hill...
Just made my way up to SFU, what a patch work! No snow in Maple Ridge, snow starts at GEW, 2 cm through Pitt Meadows, no snow around Pitt Bridge, up to 5cm along the Mary Hill portion of Mary Hill Bypass, around 1 to 2 cm along highway 1 through Coquitlam, no snow at Production station area, and then........around 10 to 15 cm up here at SFU. This place never ceases to amaze me, haha.
quite a lot here in coquitlam - lougheed mall area had a lot sticking during the morning and was pretty much gone when it changed to rain around noon, the area down by IKEA was bare when i was down there around 3 pm but the blue mountain area had a good 5-10 cm i would guess and it was snowing huge flajkes around 4 pm, than around coq centre there was none
my friend in burnaby - highgate area said they had about 5 cm and was still there all afternoon
snowfall warning in effect for today. good thing it's the weekend so hopefully no major traffic issues today, but that's probably asking a lot from vancouverites...

really coming down now on the west side. snow is really nice and powdery, or at least it was. not sure if it's still powdery now that the snowflakes are bigger, but shoveling powder snow is wayy easier than shoveling the normal heavy stuff.
Sure glad I don't live in Howe Sound or Chilliwack!! Nonetheless have at least 10cm/4" here at Gilmore Skytrain and its still coming down pretty good.
