And DAMN look at 4 WTC! It's really grown plus it beginning to show on the skyline.
Bravo NYC--both towers are indeed looking great and, yes, this is so exciting! Congrats to you lucky guys who get to wittness it!

Just saw the tower again very faintly, I wish you guys could see this view from 30 miles out, it's simply amazing. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the huge tower, and even though it's about the same height as the Empire State Building, the ESB is hard to find because it is so slender. Again, here's a photo from yesterday, I liked the text idea that Carlos did so I did the same Other buildings in the photo: Four WTC can be seen to the right of One WTC, the extremely faint outline of the Beekman behind One WTC, the spires of AIG Building, and 40 Wall Street, One Chase Manhattan Plaza, the boxy one, and very hard to see, but the tip, and i mean the tip, of the Woolworth Building to the left of One WTC. On nights, the extreme thin lines of the roofs of 7 WTC, and Goldman Sachs (NY) can also be seen. And to the far right, not in this photo, but the hill dips down where you can see the towers of the Verrazano Bridge.

It doesn't really matter. This tower just needs another jump and it will be at least 15 feet taller that the Empire State Building. Like PZelda, I might visit New York this summer( my friend went this spring break), and if I really do, it will be the first time I see 1 WTC above the skyline. This is an amazing time in history and I just have to see it since I barely remember the Twins anymore. 1 WTC is like a reincarnation, a new version after 10 years. This is just a great time to be an American even after all the crap that happens in our daily lives.

So when would you think the panels would be visible on the tower's base.

The black netting at the podium is hiding everything at this moment, first panels should get in place before March ends.

Is the memorial plaza open to the public? When I was there in December I couldn't find the entrance to the giant footprints

Base Glass.

So I guess it's safe to assume that base cladding will begin next week?
