That's just some protective coating that has fallen off. At completion it'll all be taken off anyway.

This was my first impression, too. I mean, of course it is a city but on many photos it just looked like a couple of buildings put together. A city is more than just some buildings. On this one it looks like a living city.

yup. there's no denying that Dubai is indeed a city, however unique the circumstances of its rising may be.

of course it is a real city..i think he meant that the skyscrapers are just one row at the main road.
great image! the index gets better and better but i still don't really like it.

of course it's a city, but I'm speaking mainly of Sheikh Zayed road, which is still wholly "under construction" in appearance.

Why are the balconies on the Index getting as smaller from left to right?

And the Emirates Financial Towers are going to be freakin' awesome once completed. That skybridge will look sweet.

What you see aren't balconies but opened windows, I believe.
